Twenty years with a license
Maribel pulled her first permit in 2004 and opened Brightline Electric in 2012. She is a master electrician in an industry where people still ask to speak to the owner, assuming it is her husband.
By 2023 Brightline was doing panel upgrades, EV chargers, and solar tie-ins across Sacramento. That same year her father had a stroke, and her parents moved in with her.

Why she switched
She was working sixty-hour weeks and still doing every quote herself at night. Something had to give. She needed her office and her senior electricians to quote, schedule, and bill without her.
Now her senior techs build panel and EV charger quotes from templates with Good, Better, Best options, and customers approve and pay from their phones. Crews clock in on site, so she knows the day is moving without calling anyone.
“I didn't need a business that made more money. I needed one that needed me less.”
What changed at work
Quotes that used to wait for Maribel's evening now go out the same day from the field. The schedule lives on one calendar the whole office can see.
She reviews the numbers on Monday and the jobs on Thursday. The rest of the week, the company runs.

What changed at home
Her dad has physical therapy three mornings a week. She drives him to most of them now.
Her mom taught her to cook when she was nine. They make lumpia together on Sundays again.

“I drive my dad to therapy three mornings a week. Two years ago that was impossible.”
