From historic bungalows to new townhomes
Charlotte's housing mix keeps our technicians on their toes. In Myers Park, Dilworth, Elizabeth and Plaza Midwood, many homes were built before central air existed. Their ductwork was added decades later, often in tight crawl spaces, and older homes frequently have undersized returns and uneven upstairs rooms.
Closer in, South End, NoDa and Uptown have thousands of newer townhomes and condos with compact systems in closets and attics. Those units are efficient but tightly packed, so condensate drains and filter access matter a lot. We carry parts and fittings for both, and we know which older neighborhoods need extra care with plaster walls and tight access.
Built for Charlotte summers and surprise freezes
Most Charlotte homes cool with a central air conditioner or heat pump and heat with gas, a heat pump or both. Humidity is the constant challenge. A system that is oversized or running on a dirty coil leaves homes feeling damp, especially in basements and older homes near Sugar Creek and Briar Creek.
Winter is usually mild, but a few nights each year drop into the teens. That is when heat pumps lean on backup heat and older furnaces show their age. Our fall tune-ups focus on those weak spots so your system is ready before the first hard freeze.
