What monsoon storms do to Valley roofs

Monsoon season runs roughly from mid June through September, with the worst storms usually in July and August. Microbursts drop straight down and spread out fast, lifting ridge tiles, tearing shingles and peeling back flat roof edges. Wind-driven rain gets pushed uphill under tile, which is exactly where aging underlayment is weakest.

Dust storms come first and do their own damage. Fine dust packs into scuppers and valleys, so when the rain arrives there is nowhere for the water to go. Ponding on flat roofs and overflow at valleys account for a large share of the leak calls we take every summer.

Emergency tarping and dry-in

Call (480) 555-0192 any time, day or night. A crew will come out to tarp exposed areas, reset loose tile where it is safe to do so, and clear blocked drains so standing water can leave the roof.

We photograph everything before and after, including the attic. That record matters if you file a claim, because adjusters want to see the damage as it was, not after it has been cleaned up. Temporary work is billed separately and credited toward your permanent repair if you move forward with us. You are never locked into using us for the full job.

Working with your insurance claim

We do not tell you whether to file a claim. We give you the facts: a drone survey, a damage report with photos and measurements, and an itemized repair estimate. With that you can decide whether the damage is worth claiming against your deductible.

If you do file, we can meet your adjuster on the roof, point out wind-lifted tiles, cracked pieces and damaged flashing, and answer questions about scope. Our estimates are written in the line-item format adjusters use, which keeps the process moving. If the adjuster misses something, we document it and send a supplement with photos.

Time to call us if you see:

01

Tiles in the yard or on the driveway after a storm

02

Lifted or missing ridge caps along the top of the roof

03

New ceiling stains after wind-driven rain

04

Standing water on a flat roof a day after the storm

05

Torn, curled or missing shingles or roof edge metal

Four steps. Zero guesswork.

  1. 1

    Secure

Emergency tarping and drain clearing to stop water coming in.

  2. 2

    Document

Drone survey, attic check and a written damage report with photos.

  3. 3

    Estimate

An itemized repair estimate, and an adjuster meeting if you file a claim.

Monsoon damage

Microburst took off half our ridge caps around 9 PM. I called the leak line and a crew was tarping by 11. They came back two days later with a full photo report for my insurance company. Easy to deal with from start to finish.

Monsoon damage

Wind took a row of edge tiles off our house in Hastings Farms. Ramon's team replaced them with matching tile, checked the whole roof for anything else loose and did not try to sell me anything I did not need.

Tile roof

We had a relay done on our 2001 home near Superstition Springs. Tanya showed us drone photos of the old felt crumbling under tiles that looked fine from the yard. Ramon's crew finished in four days, kept the driveway clean and set every tile back straight. The estimate matched the final bill to the dollar.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Danielle. Ramon's crew loved working on your street, and we are glad the final bill held no surprises.

Straight answers.

What should I do right after monsoon damage?

Stay off the roof. Move valuables away from any drips, put down buckets and take photos of the ceiling and any debris in the yard. Then call a roofer for tarping and a damage report. Keep receipts for any emergency work, since most policies expect you to prevent further damage.

Does homeowners insurance cover monsoon roof damage?

Sudden wind and hail damage is often covered, while wear and aging usually is not. The details depend on your policy and deductible. Our report separates storm damage from existing wear so you and your adjuster can see what the storm actually caused.

How long does a tarp last?

A properly installed tarp, fastened and weighted for wind, typically holds for several weeks to a couple of months in summer sun. It is meant to protect the house until the permanent repair. We aim to complete repairs well before the tarp needs replacing.

Can you inspect my roof before monsoon season?

Yes, and it is the best time to do it. A pre-season inspection in April, May or early June catches loose tile, clogged scuppers and worn flashing while repairs are easy to schedule. Once storms start, crews book up quickly across the Valley.

What does your roof need?

Pick one to start. It takes about a minute.
